New Router #2

Monday, February 27th, 2006

Well eventually found the time to setup the new router. Let’s see how long it actually works for lol. It’s been standing around for over 2 weeks now (mainly due to the fact that I was too stressed when I first set it up cos I couldn’t get it working). I plugged it in tonight, run the disc and everything started working ok. Tried the web based management interface and it was all screwed up. After some searching on the internet I actually found the sequence to get it into management mode, upgraded the firmware to the latest version and now it works like a charm. A few tweeks to set the gateway and IP addresses to the same as the old router (so I didn’t need to change any of my websites in ISPconfig and everything seems to be working fully again).

This is just Bizarre

Monday, February 27th, 2006

I was checking up on some blogs I’ve neglected over the past week or so (due to my Blog World Domination plans) and I came across a link to this really bizarre blog. My immediate thought was WTF but then reading some of the comments I actually had a good laugh.

The return of Barbara Miers

Monday, February 27th, 2006

As promised I have returned the Barbera Miers, although in a slightly altered state. Blog World Domination is a devious passtime and can’t be rushed so I have allowed the effects of my brainwashing to wear off after the next Blog Olympics Training camp so she _should be back to normal_ on 2nd March. Up until that time she will not be able to say anything bad about me Bwahahahaha. If on the other hand anybody tries to reverse the effects they will unavoidably make it that she will never be her normal self again. You have been warned Bwahahahaha!!!!
My next diabolical plan will be unleashed on the Blogging public soon, watch this space

Pool Match #3

Friday, February 24th, 2006

Scouser’s pool match went badly again last night. We seem to be playing like my favourite football team. We do all the right things during the game but cannot seem to produce the killer blow. Again we lost 3-2 where we should have won possible 4-1. That’s 3 losses on the trot so we must now be sitting at the foot of the league table. Yet again the full team didn’t turn out so we had to draft in another reserve (who incidentally won his match). We expect to beat yesterday’s opponents when we get them on home ground as our match table is so much slower than theirs.

Thirteen things about Scouser’s home city of Liverpool

1… Most importantly, Liverpool has 2 top flight football clubs, Everton (who are the oldest) & Liverpool (who are the most successful British football club in history).

2… There are 2 cathedrals (situated at opposite ends of the aptly named Hope Street, the Anglican cathedral (which is the largest Anglican cathedral in Britain) and the River Mersey.

5… Liverpool was once one of the world’s largest ports to the extent that by the beginning of the 19th century, approx. 40% of the world’s trade was passing through the docks at Liverpool.

6… It was profits from the slave trade in the 18th century which enabled Liverpool to grow..

7… Liverpool was involved in the American civil war. The last Confederate ship, the CSS Alabama, was built at Birkenhead on the Mersey and the CSS Shenandoah surrendered there.

8… Liverpool is sometimes referred to as the capital of North Wales.

9… In 2004 Liverpool’s waterfront was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the justification is Liverpool’s importance in the development of world trading system, dock construction & port management.

10. In the 1960s Liverpool became alive with the advent of The Beatles and Merseybeat.

11. The Ferry ‘cross the Mersey as imortalised in song by Gerry & The Pacemakers does actually exist see here.

12. The coordinates for Liverpool are 53°25N 3°W.

13. The maiden voyage of Titanic was originally planned for Liverpool, but relocated to Southampton — no part of Titanic was actually constructed in Liverpool.
