Site now using Wordpress

Friday, January 19th, 2007

Ok folks, the site is now on the new server & has been transferred over to Wordpress. As you will no doubt notice, the theme is not quite complete yet but at least it’s nearly there. Also I have installed SK2 (Spam Karma 2) to help combat the spam comments.

Now that my new server is now up and running properly I will be able to dedicate more time to World Domination and I can promise you all that the SPAMMERS will be the first against the wall when the revolution comes.

New Server

Thursday, November 9th, 2006

Ok I’ve gone and bought myself a new server Cobalt Raq Server (a second hand Cobalt RaQ4 for anyone who’s interested) so there may be some interruptions to normal service as I migrate my sites over to it.

I did hint a while ago that I was going to migrate this site over to wordpress and being pre-occupied with world domination I didn’t get around to it. Well that was a HUGE mistake as I found out recently when I found 800 spam comments, this was not a real problem until I found that after deleting the said spam I had also inadvertantly deleted the most recent genuine comments.

Anyway I digress, back to the new server. I have to install MySQL and other bits an pieces first but then I am going to migrate this site first, but this time I am also migrating to wordpress to stop the spam. When that is complete and I know it’s working properly then I will start migrating other sites as and when I have the time.

To all of my loyal, readers prepare yourself for a new look world domination site as I will also be changing the theme and adding some yummy new features (all to be revealed in the near future).

The Chillis (Red hot chilli peppers tribute band) website

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

The Chillis Website I have been a bit busy again. This is another site I designed for the manager of The Aldridge Tavern. This time for his band The Chillis, who are a tribute band playing the music of The red hot chili peppers.

The site is powered by WordPress and may or may not have forums (I haven’t decided yet). If forums are included the it will probably be Simple Machines Forum

The site has gig guides, band member biogs, gig ratings and also a review section in the form of user comments.

Plugins used include:
WP-PostRatings
fGallery Image Plugin
Fuzzy recent updates
Taragana’s Del.icio.us mp3 Player Plugin
Static front page
Search Pages

I now have yet another site to utilise for my world domination plans. (and more under construction)
BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

Aldridge

Thursday, April 20th, 2006

Strange entry here but I just tried to find this site by seraching for Aldridge (my local town) and didn’t get a result so I thought I’d have to do something about it. I also had a query from someone who had seen this site and asked me if there was anythig I could do to help with his site about Aldridge so I thought I’d post this bit on nonsense to help Google out a bit. It all helps in my World Domination Plans.

Aldridge Tavern Website

Wednesday, April 12th, 2006

Aldridge Tavern Website I have been a bit busy again. This is another site I designed for another friend who runs his own pub.

The site is powered by WordPress and when the theme is sorted out will have a forum powered by phpBB.

The Aldridge Tavern is aiming to be the premier live music event in the West Midlands. There is a live band on every Friday evening.

Jam night on Mondays allows budding musicians to play on a stage in front of a live audience (and quite often accompanied by some excellent professional musicians like Terry Hill who is the lead guitarist for the Eagles tribute band The Long Run and also the Who tribute band My Generation. Amps, PAs & Drums are all supplied so participants only need to bring themselves and their guitars / drum sticks.

Acoustic jam night (also known as Jam night Unplugged) is a new (and very popular) weekly event held on Sunday evenings but unlike the Monday night this is a more relaxed, quiet affair with, as the title suggests only accoustic instruments allowed.

My world domination plans are now moving at a pace with another site to utilise, (and more under construction) BWAHAHAHAHA!!!
